The climate crisis is the most urgent issue of our time. My site-specific works and photography explore the intricacy of social notions of belonging to nature as our ‘home’ – Oikos, Greek for house-home, is at the root of ecology. 
 
The latest felted wool series is made from locally woven, age-damaged kilims. It is an eco-political commentary on the identity of the place over time, in my ancestral region of southwest Serbia, amidst the Dinaric Alps. In the current political and economic situation, the traditional sustainable practice of agricultural and pastoral culture is unsupported and disappearing, while wool is being discarded despite its highly valuable properties. Wool has been essential to the local vernacular lifestyle and traditional fiber crafts.
 
All sales fund the Earth Calls project, an art eco-residency in the making, whose mission is in service to the individual, cultural, and the well-being of the Earth from a nature-informed perspective.
